Sarah / Sārah

שָׂרָה (Hebrew) · سارة (Arabic)

Wife of Abraham, mother of Isaac

Overview

Both traditions mention the miraculous announcement of Isaac’s birth to Abraham’s aged wife. The Torah names her extensively; the Quran refers to her indirectly as Abraham’s wife who laughed at the angel’s news.
